The Art of Field Recording is unlike any other music tech course
Before taking the AoFR, I struggled with using my recordings in a meaningful, musical way, but inside the AoFR I was exposed to field recording compositions and techniques I’d never otherwise have heard and invaluable peer feedback on my work. There is a wealth of knowledge here delivered with lots of heart 💫

Field recording was what first made me deeply fall in love with sound. I'd been a musician for years, but hearing the world come to life in beautiful, intricate detail through a microphone started my obsession with recording and production. So much so, I spent a decade researching and creating with field recordings and soundscape composition in my MA and PhD at The Sonic Arts Research Centre.
And, while you might think field recording is a niche skill and far too experimental to incorporate into your music, my most successful song ever, Waiting For You - which has over 20M Spotify streams - features a field recording. In fact, I believe it's one of the reasons this song - and the rest of my self-produced music - has connected so deeply with listeners, all over the world.
Take a listen to see if you can spot it right at the end!
And it's not just me. Having the space to explore sound on our terms without judgement, while feeling deeply connected to ourselves and nature, is perhaps what makes field recording the first step many women take towards deepening their skills in music technology.
So, are you ready to start your field recording adventure?
